Marijuana Myths, Marijuana Facts: a review of the scientific evidence
by Lynn Zimmer and John P. Morgan
-
The best book I never wrote. Though I did help edit, produce, and publicize it. It's by Lynn Zimmer and John P. Morgan, two sweet, brilliant people who -- given what follows -- need no other introduction.

- Lynn Zimmer

Lynn died on July 5, 2006 leaving a gaping hole. The Drug Policy Alliance, the publisher of her great work with Dr. Morgan (Marijuana Myths, Marijuana Facts), created a mini web site in her honor.
On the first page with the obituary -- at the bottom -- is a link to a second page page (the link says "blog, The D'Alliance"). At the bottom of the second page there is another link that says "comments." Click that to read the moving tributes people have written to our brilliant, wonderful friend and teacher.

- Common Sense for Drug Policy Ad

Commonsense for Drug Policy runs ads explaining the many problems with the war on drugs. One of their ads used Zimmer and Morgan's book to make some important point -- and sent readers to the book's web site. Bravo to them.

- Morgan and Zimmer's chapter from

The longest chapter in "Crack in America." The absolutely essential chapter -- the one that had to be there. The definitive rebuttal of all the goofy claims.

- Safety First

Marsha Rosenbaum's excellent pamphlet draws upon the work of Zimmer and Morgan. Indeed, Marsha has given the book as birthday presents.

- The ACLU on marijuana

The ACLU's statement about marijuana, the ACLU New York Times ad on marijuana, and the ACLU's recommendation for the book, all rolled into one web page.
If you want to understand how important this is: first think about how stupid U.S. marijuana laws are, and then name all the organizations that have officially and formally said what the ACLU has said.
You get the point.
